  1. As an Educator, I do realize and fully understand that when you receive notice that you're going to be evaluated, you put on the best show possible. Most teachers do this just for that day, some every so often, and a few do it daily. For myself, I do it daily b/c each day is something new even if we recently went over the material. Every teacher is going to have a day when they are just tired, most from lack of support from admin, parents, and even the students, others from just the general frustration of unorganized systems, some just b/c they don't see the progress they desire.
I believe observations should be held 8 times a year. 4 formal observations at/towards the end of each quarter/term, and 4 informal (pop-in) just to see if the students are really engaged. It may seem like a lot, but the admins are in the offices too much and not seeing what's going on in the classrooms hint the cheating scandal.
Furthermore, whatever instrument GADOE decides to use needs to be given to traditional & non traditional training programs at school systems and universities for teachers so that when new teachers come in, it doesn't take them a year to learn Class Keys, etc they already know it and can perform to it.
